Fashion Show
Saturday 13th March saw a touch of spring come upon Milland, with Alastair and Robina Farley’s beautiful Wardley Barn transformed into a fashion hotspot, replete with catwalk, spotlights and a welter of colourful collections from local shops. The timing of the show was particularly good, coming straight after last week’s excellent news that we had finally obtained Planning Permission for the annexe, specially designed by our distinguished architect Ptolemy Dean.
When the night came, the barn was full to capacity with a very supportive audience of Anthony and Nicola Hulbert, Millanders, friends and family. The show began with a heady performance from fearless girls modelling Amazing Grace lingerie, swimwear and nightwear, which set the pace for the evening. Then our local volunteers came to the fore with spring casual collections from Carla in a range of pretty shades and patterns.
Raffle prizes distributed and spirits glowing, the evening ended as it began – with great atmosphere, humour and a sense of camaraderie and enjoyment – and a delicious supper for many at the Rising Sun.
A magnificent sum of £3400 was raised for our new annexe! Many thanks are due to Ally Allfrey, Sociana Clark, Lettie Langley and Sarah Pike...the fantastic organisers!
